The Founding Day of Krishnamurthy Institute of Algology was celebrated on 4.10.2009 at the Centre of Advanced Study in Botany, University of Madras, Chennai from 8.30 AM to 4.00 PM. The inaugural function was presided over by Prof. V. Krishnamurthy, Founder of the Institute and he confered the Lifetime Achievement Award for Phycology for 2009 on Dr.L.V.Venkataraman. Thereafter, there was a colloquy consisting of two lectures and paper presentation.
